Obituary of Edward Louis Stoneberger

Funeral Services for Eddie Louis Stoneberger of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. James Huffman, of Troy, MO will officiate with interment in Jonesburg City Cemetery in Jonesburg, MO. Mr. Stoneberger, 88, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 4, 2016 at Elsberry Heath Care Center, near Elsberry. Born March 3, 1928 in Jonesburg he was the son of William Henry and Anna M. Kasmann Stoneberger. Mr. Stoneberger was raised near Jonesburg and later near Winfield. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army from September 16, 1952 until being honorably discharged on September 9, 1954. He returned to farming in the Winfield community. He was a member of the Moscow Mills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna Stoneberger, two sisters: Ruth Schlesinger and Flora Grotweil; and one brother, William Stoneberger. Survivors include his niece, Anna Swenson, of Moscow Mills, MO; and his nephew, Ron Schlesinger of Winfield, MO; great-nieces, great-nephews; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
