Obituary of Mary Ann Pieper

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Pieper of O’Fallon, MO, formerly of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Ell, Doug Ell, Kevin Ell, John Prinster, Bruce Prinster and Paul Prinster. Mrs. Pieper, 95, passed away Tuesday evening, April 26, 2016 at Villa Theresa in O’Fallon. Born March 3, 1921 in St. Charles County, MO, she was the daughter of John Nicholas and Catherine J. Wilke Prinster. Mary Ann was united in marriage on April 28, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to Norman Joseph “Red” Pieper. This union was blessed with one daughter, Jeanette. Mary Ann worked for several years at Curtiss-Wright (now Boeing) and Brown Shoe. She later worked as a clerk and meat cutter for IGA in O’Fallon and Old Monroe. MaryAnn was a member of the Ladies Sodality and an avid quilter for many, many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Prinster; five brothers: Ralph Prinster, Albert Prinster, Clarence Prinster, Joseph Prinster and Glennon Prinster; one sister, Elizabeth Prinster; and her beloved husband of 68 years, Norman “Red” Pieper, who died November 15, 2011. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Huffman of St. Peters; one grandson, Jason Huffman; and two great-grandchildren: Avery and Josie. Mary Ann also leaves one sister-in-law, Rose Marie Prinster of O’Fallon; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church.
